Simon Fashion Now Fall 2012

Posted on Sep 26, 2012 in Featured, iWanna, San Francisco Bay Area fashion | 0 comments

Simon Fashion Now Fall 2012 arrived at Stanford Shopping Center on September 21 and 22 to celebrate mall shopping. Partnering with various retail brands available at the beautiful outdoor mall, special in-store offers and runway shows were held to drum up Fall 2012 excitements and entice customers to shop looks they see fresh off of the runway.

Sounds similar to Fashion Night Out? Yes, but one that’s tailored to mall shopping. Simon Fashion Now program originated from Indianapolis and it has been producing mall shopping events for the past 5 years. Each Fall and Spring seasons, the core production team goes from city to city to raise customer awareness of new collections in their favorite brands and shop immediately. This Fall season, Simon Fashion Now tours starting from Houston, TX on September 6 – 8, then goes to Palo Alto, CA, Boca Raton, FL, White Plains, NY, Garden City, NY, and finally Charlotte, NC on October 19 – 20.

Art Institute of California San Francisco Fashion Show 2012 Review

It was a bittersweet affair at Art Institute of California San Francisco Fashion Show 2012 on Saturday, June 16 at SF Design Center. On one hand, the talented students brought out great fashion at “What’s Next, Are You Ready To Wear” student fashion show, as expected. On the other hand, it was Bo Breda’s last student fashion show participation as the Academic Department Director of Fashion Design of AIC-SF.

Nevertheless, it was a successful fashion show production that promised new exciting direction for soon-to-be-emerging fashion designers of AIC-SF.

Art Institute of California San Francisco Fashion Lineup Spring 2011 Review

I was looking forward for the Art Institute of California – San Francisco’s spring fashion show since early this year, and this year’s presentation of Art Institute of California Fashion Lineup really highlighted great talents and creative concepts. The fact that four of the six winners of the night were the ones doing the Independent Fashion Show back in April also really (somehow) made me very proud of them :)

The fashion show production was as professional as ever (kudos to all of the production crew; job well done!) and the three judges this year were Bacca da Silva, Angela Medlin, and Joseph Domingo. I do agree completely with their winner picks; all six of them are fully noted here.

What’s Hot This Weekend

Posted on Jun 17, 2011 in iWanna | 0 comments

image Whats Hot This WeekendGuys, you know the feeling when time seems to stand still and your memories flash before your eyes?

Well, I sure don’t. Because for the past handful of weeks, time was blazing fast and sometimes I don’t even have any idea where I am or who I am. OK, maybe not that severe, but perhaps you get the gist of it. Lo and behold, it’s already Friday, June 17, 2011. Even though I’m bummed looking at how many days passed between my last post and this, I do rejoice the fact that there’s so much hot stuff going on.

Huge thanks for Refinery 29 for the 16 fabulous things happening this weekend.
Two things jump at me for Saturday events: The North Beach Festival  at 10 am to 6 pm, as well as the Vacation Vintage Pop-Up Shop from 1 – 5 pm. Will definitely work my way around those two places tomorrow before attending the Art Institute of California – San Francisco’s Annual Spring Fashion Show: “The Fashion Line-Up”  at SF Design Center in the evening.

Oh, and do you know that Azalea has $45 for $90 or $100 for $200 deal going on? If you’re like me, who adores what Azalea boutique has to offer, you’ve got to have it!

But life’s not all about your own consumption. Help L.E.S Runway reach its $8,500 goal for the next three days! It’s donating for a great cause, elevating local fashion designers to present their works on catwalk and sell through a pop-up shop in NYC. Isn’t that great? Cheryl Maleh, you go girl.

Have a great weekend guys,
Musank

California College of the Arts Annual Fashion Show 2011 Review

California College of the Arts (CCA) Fashion Design Chair Amy Williams said at the beginning of the show that it’s the school’s 13th annual fashion show, which interestingly was held on Friday, the 13th of May. Very exciting for me personally, because believe it or not, 13 is one of my lucky numbers :)

OK, let’s start the show, shall we? The show was jam-packed with students, parents, local press and media, as well as fashionistas that couldn’t wait what CCA students were about to present on the runway. I have to add though, everybody in the tent was so supportive and cheerful; every single look that was presented got warm applauses. Go CCA students!
