In a Nutshell
The knowledge to make these origami treasure boxes is passed down from my aunt. She showed me two design options for the lid – a pinwheel or an arrow head. People from East or Southeast Asia may find this design very familiar, as this is one of the more practical Match application that encourages creativity and good habit of repurposing things already available around us.
Key Materials
These hexagon shaped boxes has a base and a lid top, each made out of 2 sheets of square-shaped papers. Therefore, a set of origami treasure box is made from 4 pieces of square-shaped papers. The bigger the paper size, the bigger the final box becomes. Glue may be added to enhance sturdiness between the folds, but not always.
