In a Nutshell
Initially an off-white canvas coat acquired at a local estate sale, the gardening coat underwent several dyeing and decoloring treatments. Then after some time, silk fabric flowers from leftover Easter decorations were stitched by hand to the back of the coat for visual impact. The gardening coat will continue to undergo transformations as time allows.
Key Materials
The main materials for this Refashion project are a canvas coat, Rit Dye, bleach, rusty objects (for rust dyeing), and fabric flower leftovers. Home dyeing tools and hand sewing notions complete the tool list.
