Covering up a wine stain on a vintage Japanese kimono in preparation of a kimono styling group photoshoot. Maple leaf motifs are sketched and stabilized onto the wine stain area before embroidered by hand.

Key Materials

The main materials for garment mending were hand embroidery supplies – matching embroidery floss and needle, hoop, scissors. Tracing paper and water soluble sticky stabilizer are also used.
