Socks/Tights for Spring 2011

resource.jsp?id=79039&name=anna sui pop of color Socks/Tights for Spring 2011If there’s one Spring 2011 trend that I absolutely love, it’s Sock  & Shoe Combos. Even when people was scolded for wearing socks or tights underneath their open-toe shoes, I love wearing socks. For me, it makes walking on those high heels much more bearable. Plus, tights and socks are super fun for cold-weather-oriented city like San Francisco.

And so it was absolutely delightful for me when I went to ASOS and found so many cute socks and tights starting from $5! And they ship free in the US as well! I already have 5 favorites in here, and none of them is above $20, so that’s a good sign, right? Maybe not, but whatever. I want some socks! And tights! Especially since my Uniqlo black tights became ruined, I’m in serious need for tights. And socks.

So I’ll go socks-and-tights shopping for next few days, as well as making donations to Red Cross. Nihon, akiramenai de kudasai ne! Anata-tachi wa, hontou ni tsuyoi kuni dakara. Gambatte!

With love,
Musank

What to Check this Weekend

Posted on Jan 7, 2011 in iWanna | 0 comments

What to Check this WeekendTrust Daily Candy to try to dictate your outing schedule this weekend :) There are definitely a lot of things to do or see (my favorite is the Vintage Paper Fair, naturally), and I hope you keep getting inspired this weekend no matter what you do.

Two designers definitely worth mentioning here are Yvette Jelfs (gorgeous hats, hair clips, and headpieces that made me want to walk out from my sewing/creative table and just go shopping) and Wilfred (edgy and sleek winter clothing that’s definitely steps above your usual jeans/shirt combo).

So are you going to San Francisco this weekend?

Janet Jackson “Rhythm Nation” Dance Class

Posted on Nov 11, 2010 in Dance, iWanna, Muses | 0 comments

Thank you Daily Candy for letting me know about this. 1989′s “Rhythm Nation” is one of the most iconic dances of all time, and now it’s time for Bay Area dance enthusiasts to learn Ms. Jackson’s (if you’re nasty) dance moves.

Yes, it’s hard. It’s intricate, detailed, intrinsically intense, and so totally awesome! After watching this rare footage (back in the day of VHS), I am totally convinced we should all join the mob.

Not in San Francisco? Fly here and join us :) If you missed the Sunday practice like I did (what? It was raining hard), you can catch up by visiting their video tutorial page. Super cool.

We are a part of the Rhythm Nation,

S/S 2011 Fashion Week Coverage from Daily Candy

Mercedes-Benz Fashion week is tomorrow and I found this  Fashion Week Minutes from Daily Candy so fun to watch even before the models walk down the runway. Check out the cool finds and designer tid-bits there and perhaps you’ll become inspired to fly to NYC to see the action in full motion. Or, if you’re like me (who can’t go for various reasons and excuses), I’ll just check out Daily Candy from time to time.

Will you become more fashionable during the Fashion Week? I’ll try to don high heels and “release” my more out-of-ordinary dresses and outfits and walk the walk on my office’s carpeted floor,

From Daily Candy: Camelia Skikos and Acrobats of God

From Daily Candy: Camelia Skikos and Acrobats of God

Oh Daily Candy, how I love you.

SF local designer Camelia Skikos’ edgy but feminine (yes, you can be both! Just in case you’re still in doubt) dresses and tops are featured in Edgy Evening Wear and Cocktail Dresses by Designer Camelia Skikos | San Francisco – DailyCandy. The prices are a bit too deep for my pockets (I’m drowning!), but I’ll definitely check it out.

And while I’m still in the subject of loving Daily Candy, here’s one more thing. Shoes made from elastic bands, brought to you by Acrobats of God. GENIUS! Now maybe I can smoothly run in 4″ heels without toppling over every 10 seconds. No? Really? It’s called skill? Oh well, OK.

Have a great weekend, everyone,
Musank
