Galiara The Artists Alley, 863 Mission, San Francisco was weaved into an artful Tuan Tran WireWear fashion show on Saturday, November 26, 2011. It’s exciting to see how the casting call from two months back morphed into such a splendid (AND on-time) art-as-fashion Tuan Tran WireWear production led by Ava Byrd.

I think it’s important to give the appropriate credits for the production team because they did such an excellent job in getting everything move smoothly. In addition to Ava Byrd, special shout outs to MUA team: Coordinator Arlene Coleman, Lead MUA Christian Alvarez (with Berkeley O Bjornsen, Mimi Tran, Kristine Rose) and Lead MUA Regard Tang (with Thazzia Falek, Denise Velasquez, and Rochelle Dingman). Hair is by Bellarmine Salon.

Below are some pictures depicting some mood and atmosphere before the show. It was a very energetic yet controlled, relaxed atmosphere (yay for scoring a picture with the ever fabulous Cristina Ribeiro backstage :) ), and it was very interesting to see how models the models acting as live mannequins at Galiara’s windows, attracting attentions from Mission St. passersby. And did I mention Ava getting a surprise birthday cake? Once again, happy belated birthday Ava!

And before I forget, let’s talk about the shoes. I have a special place in my heart for deeFind shoes. Her shoes have statement-making characters, and if the rest of your outfits are basic, these shoes will lift you up, if you know what I mean :)

If you’re a fan of her shoes, make sure to check out deeFind shoes Holiday Launch Party at Root Division Gallery, 3175 17th Street on Friday, December 9, 7 – 9 pm. Hosted by Charleston Pierce, this event will present great shoes with fabulous entertainment!

Now, the TuanTran WireWear fashion show. I paid much more attention to the menswear, mostly because I didn’t get to see them much during the casting call, and that because the pairing of the long wire vests (provided by Flaming Hakama) was very artistic and yet effortless. Masculine and strong, yet down-to-earth, humble and grounded. The red hand wire accessories that Jeff (one of the male models) wore is also an item that is, in my opinion, very hot. I want it :)

The girls’ dresses, like the humble menswear counterpart, are also very elegant. Halter necklines, off-the-shoulder mini dresses, as well as serene, coral-like long gowns are presented one color after another on the gallery’s runway. Such a fitting settings for this artful fashion show. See pictures from Tuan Tran WireWear collection below, as well as after-party pictures of these gorgeous models having fun and acting silly :) Fabulous much?

Congratulations once again to Tuan Tran and his entire production team. A job well done and I’ll be very interested to see the next level of what Tuan will bring to the local San Francisco fashion landscape. A very exciting prospect, indeed. Looking at this collection, I can’t help but anticipating what his next collection would look like!

Until next time,
Musank
