Indonesian designer Tex Saverio made a strong impression at Paris Fashion Week with his Tex Saverio Spring/Summer 2015 Fashion Installation. Futuristic, geometric, and fantastic glamour.

Tex Saverio is one of the perfect examples of the abundance of incredible fashion talents coming from Indonesia. A strong designer with dramatic flair, he has designed couture gowns worn by Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lawrence, and Kim Kardashian. Being an Indonesian myself, of course I’m very proud to feature him here. He has the taste, talent, and business smarts to propel his brand to the highest fashion level. He can go to great heights of avant-garde, couture garments, however he can also be “tamer” in designing his clothes. Tex Saverio Spring/Summer 2015 fashion installation “Parametric” is about his tamer side. It’s more refined and focused, yet still very much statement-making and bold at the same time.

Tex Saverio held his fashion presentation on Sunday, 28th September 2014 at Palais de Tokyo Salle YoYo, 75016 Paris. The “Parametric” collection consists of 10 signature looks (according to the press release), however if you look closely at the photos below, you will find 14 looks. I’m definitely not complaining, all of them are fantastic to look at! He used PU hologram, printed organdy and duchesse satin fabrics, molding them into structured and geometric silhouettes to evoke the futuristic feel of the collection. To amplify it, Mr. Saverio created 3D artworks with gem prints, as well as teracotta, mosaic, and citadel laser cutting techniques.

Below are photos provided by Totem Fashion depicting both the backstage scenes (they’re always fun to look at, are they not? It’s always a great feeling looking at how the production crew makes things happen all the time, every time.) and the fashion installation scene. I dare you not wishing you were there.

Fashion Presentation

Since this is a fashion presentation, the format is more “intimate installation” than “runway.” And that’s perfectly fine; I wished I was there to look at each garments closely…it would’ve been a treat! However, if there’s one thing missing from enjoying the collection fully, it’s the spotlight-style lighting. The color palette for Tex Saverio Spring/Summer 2015 consists of snow white, aquatic blue and silver cloud with silver and jet black. And yet with the harsh lighting, it’s hard to see that nuance in photos (or perhaps even in person).

That being said, all of the garments look divine. You might want to argue that there are only 10 looks, but if you look at the photos closer, you will see that there are extra garments. Yes, they were presented at most 10 at a time, but I counted 14 incredible looks altogether. Can you find them all? It sure took me a while :) And by the way, aren’t those masks so cool? Not practical, well yes, but absolutely cool nonetheless!

Go Indonesia! Cheers to Tex Saverio who brought out his talents to the fashion world and helped put Jakarta, Indonesia on the international fashion map. Our politics may be in disarray right now, but incredible talents like him are what warms my heart and makes my mind less stressed with the situation happening in my birth country. All the best to Tex and all of his future endeavors! God speed.
