An enchanting Baby the Stars Shine Bright lolita fashion showcase was one of our anticipated fashion events of J-Pop Summit 2015. See the latest collection from the label and its Alice and the Pirates label! Photos by Christian Hadidjaja and Mira Musank.

It’s been a while since we last covered Baby the Stars Shine Bright fashion segment during J-Pop Summit 2012. On previous occasions, the lolita fashion label presented a fashion competition format, in which lolita fans dressed up wearing their favorite Baby the Stars Shine Bright garments with added personal touches. The winners were chosen by how well the contestants incorporated a given theme into their overall outfit.

This year, however, Baby the Stars Shine Bright opted for a fashion showcase of its latest collections, including Alice and the Pirates label. Baby the Stars Shine Bright revolves around the more classic, sweet lolita looks, while Alice and The Pirates is about darker, gothic lolita.

It’s great to see some familiar faces during the fashion show, as some Baby the Stars Shine Bright fashion contestants from past Baby the Stars Shine Bright from previous years came back modeling the fabulously beautiful and intricate lolita fashion!

Alice and the Pirates

The first segment of the Baby the Stars Shine Bright fashion show features its sub-label, Alice and the Pirates. They’re like fantasy, both mysterious and alluring at the same time. I just wished the lighting technician did not wash the stage with blue lights at the beginning so we could see the actual garment colors better. Nevertheless, the girls looked very lovely and the last outfit was my favorite.

Baby the Stars Shine Bright

The overall mood lifted considerably when the first cheerful model with red heart-shaped bag came out. Baby the Stars Shine Bright’s looks were more youthful and classic. The attention of details for the overall look was extraordinary, and I really loved the cute bear’s tail detail at the back of one dress. The girls seemed to have tons of fun, too!

At the end of the show, all the models were invited back to the stage and that’s when we got to take more shots :)

I admire these girls who are boldly decked out in their chosen lolita outfits in San Francisco, which is now mostly overrun with grey hooded techies with hover boards. They look so lovely, so beautiful, and impeccable, and it’s hard not to stare or take pictures whenever these lolita girls are around.

If you’re in Japantown next time, make sure to check out Baby the Stars Shine Bright San Francisco store inside the NEW PEOPLE building!

Thanks for reading; until next time,
