Yesterday, my boyfriend and I strolled around in the Palo Alto area’s University Avenue after buying two cups of fraiche yogurt at Emerson St (btw, this fro-yo is so divine, we go there every week without fail).

At one point, I stopped in front of a clothing store that has “SALE” sign on its doors and started to contemplate whether to go in or not. Then, realizing that I have way too many clothes at home (the reality of it hits me when we moved to a new apartment a day earlier), I decided to pass. That’s when my boyfriend asked me casually, “You know that  Barneys New York Warehouse Sale is this week, right?”

“Huh? Really?”

“Yes, it’s starting this Thursday (July 29) at Fort Mason,” he said.

I completely forgot! Suddenly last year’s catches of Derek Lam and David Szeto dresses came to mind, and I said, “OK cool, then we’ll set some time to come over there.”

“Didn’t you just say you have too many clothes?” he asked.

“Yeah, but I’m looking for a good blazer or two. They should have them there.”

Whatever sense of guilt that I previously held over having too many clothes went out of the window the very second he mentioned the warehouse sale. And if I found more pieces than jackets, then so be it.

Barneys New York Warehouse Sale, here we come!
