My style note for CCA 2015 Graduation Fashion Show: Harputs dress and Sou Sou coat. I’m getting a lot of good feedback even weeks after the event has passed! Photos by Christian Hadidjaja.

One month has passed since California College of the Arts 2015 fashion show, and I’ve still gotten compliments of what I wore during the show. It’s interesting when people still remember what you chose to wear on a certain day. That’s a good sign that my fashion experiment was successful :)

So let me share some photos Chris took of me that evening before and after the fashion show. I couldn’t resist; CCA campus always has great settings for quick photo sessions due to its numerous students’ art exhibitions. My outfit that evening consisted of a Harputs dress (that Chris bought me for a birthday but forgot to gift me until 2 years later), a Sou Sou coat, a pair of Melissa boots, and of course, my Longchamp clutch. I also wore my “sleeping fox” ring I got from Takashimaya Japan in 2013, but you most likely cannot see it clearly in these photos.

Top all that with straighten hair and coral red lips, I was ready to go!

Before the show, I opted to leave the Sou Sou coat out. Getting the right angle for this dress was a little challenging, but capturing the drape on the left sleeve did the trick. It’s such a beautiful dress with an interesting cut and a leather-trimmed neckline.

During and after the show, the wind chill was a little too much to handle, so the Sou Sou coat was the perfect cover up. Chris and I have been long-time fans of Sou Sou, and I got this Kisaragi coat at Sou Sou SF store in Japantown. The wool coat momentarily transformed me into a “modern urban ninja warrior” fashionista…..and I LOVE it.

By the end of the night, I felt like I was turning japanese, if that makes sense :)

Thanks for reading; until next time,
Musank
